EVOLUTION

The lifecycle of one improvement.

From a submitted candidate to a validated parent record: what runs, what is recorded, and which transitions are allowed.

SIX STAGES

Propose to evolve.

Select a stage to see what it produces and which part of the network performs it.

stage 01 · Propose

Submit a candidate improvement to a defined capability, algorithm, reasoning method, or research procedure.

STATUS MODEL

Explicit transitions. Nothing erased.

Every status change is recorded. Challenges and supersession append outcomes rather than rewriting history, and rejected work stays visible so the network learns from it.

DRAFT
Prepared but not submitted. Not used by the API today; submissions enter as SUBMITTED.
SUBMITTED
Accepted by the registry service with a content hash; the initial experiment is queued.
EVALUATING
The initial experiment is running candidate and baseline in an isolated sandbox.
PENDING_REPLICATION
The candidate improved on the held-out set; replication runs must reproduce the result.
VALIDATED
Replications agree. A lineage record is written and the proposal becomes a parent for later work.
REJECTED
No measurable improvement, invalid solutions, timeouts, or replications that diverged. Recorded, never deleted.
CHALLENGED
A challenge is open against the evaluation. The prior status is preserved and restored or replaced on resolution.
SUPERSEDED
A newer evaluation replaces this one. The record remains and points at its replacement.
WITHDRAWN
The contributor withdrew the proposal. Queued experiments stop; completed records remain visible.

ALLOWED TRANSITIONS

The registry enforces this table.

Taken directly from the protocol types package; the service refuses any transition not listed here.
